9th of June, 2007 (9:05 AM)

There was a time when I wore the watch and was governed by Time.

In reference to the pic change on my gmail settings. In the pic I am wearing the only watch I ever possessed, My Black Thin Titan, that my father bought for me way back when I was in Class Tenth. Once that watch broke, I stopped wearing a watch altogether; partially because I think the Time rules you, dictates you, when you wear a watch and keep looking at it for one reason or the other; and of course for the second reason that no other watch ever came close to replacing my beloved Titan.

Isi talash-o-tajassus mein kho gaya hoon main, Jo main nahi hoon to kyun hoon, jo hoon to kya hoon main.

Amir Khusro continues, the sher is taken from Abida Parveen's rendetion of Man Kunto Maula from her album Jash-e-Khusrau.

Signifies the state of confusion I am in, when I don't know what future holds for me and the present doesn't really excite me much.

I expect you to be independent, innovative, critical thinker who will do exactly as I say.

Taken from a cartoon questioning 'Is maths really a child's play'.

Found it quite funny and goes with my taste for mathematics related quotes.

Aa sajna in nainan mein palak dhaank tohe loon, Na main dekhoon gair ko na tohe dekhan doon. Kaajar daaroo kirkira jo surma diya na jaaye, Jin nainan mein pi base dooja kaun samaye, Dooja kaun samaye.

Still hovering over the Kailash Kher's rendition of Chaap Tilak. These are the first lines of the song, perhaps written by Amir Khusro.

Not really sure of my intentions why my have this as my status message, may be feeling love and desolation the sufi way.

First of June, 2007 (11:26 AM)

Chaap Tilak Sab Chinni Mose Naina Milaike

First line of the brilliant 13th century poem by Amir Khusro.

Written under the influence of Kailash Kher's rendition of the same in his album 'Jhoomo Re'.

Written cos in the present state of mind someone seem to have taken away my identity and myself, and I stand aloof and oblivion to what future has in store for me.
